Tour de France: Free Bets & Offers

Cycling

The world’s most difficult bike race, Le Tour de France, started on June 29 and is more than halfway through. All 21 gruelling stages provide plenty of betting opportunities with lots of stages still left to claim and use online bookies free bets on.

With stage 15 done, we look at what’s been happening in the greatest cycle race in the world, who’s in the lead and how you could use bookie offers to make sure you ride home a winner.

The latest news is that Chris Froome took a giant step towards the Tour de France title by winning at the summit of Mont Ventoux after the longest stage of this year’s race.

He's the bookies favourite to win the Tour de France while top UK bookie Ladbrokes offers the best odds on him doing just that at 1/14.

He’s also most bookies favourite to win King of the Mountains and Betfair offers punters the best odds at 7/4.

Of course the Tour de France is a cycling marathon and there’s been plenty of betting action along the way. In stage 2, Alexander Kristoff wore the green jersey and Marcel Kittel wore the yellow jersey as leader.

In stage 9, Pierre Rolland, who was second in the mountains classification, wore the polka dot jersey and Chris Froome wore the yellow jersey as leader. At that point both Froome and Rolland had each collected 31 points.

Tour de France Betting Offers

With six stages still to go in the 2013 Tour de France there are still plenty of chances to use a betting offer or two. BetVictor offers punters the chance to claim a Tour de France free bet. Simply bet on a stage and they'll give you a free bet to use on the following stage.

Stage 16 of this years Tour de France is 168km long with two climbs in the opening 50km. Nairo Quintana - in second place - will wear the white jersey and Betfair offer punters the best odds (40/1) on this market for Quintana to take the yellow jersey overall.

Wednesday sees stage 17, a 32km individual time trial and a real chance to make good use of bookie offers. The main contenders for the overall race will do well and Chris Froome will be looking for another stage win in his quest for Tour de France glory!

Alberto Contador shouldn’t be ruled out; and although a long-shot, Bet365 offers decent odds of 25/1 for Contador to win this years Tour de France.

Stage 18 on Thursday will probably be the best day to use your Tour de France free bet. It’s the day that cycling fans have been waiting for as it’s the first time in history that the Alpe d'Huez will be tackled twice in one day and is sure to bring up some special bookie offers.

Friday, and stage 19 of the 2013 Tour de France, sees another brutal day in the Alps for the riders with 204.5km to cover overall with around 65km of pure climbing!

Saturday’s stage 20 sees a short but potentially decisive penultimate stage and one of your last chances to use those Tour de France free bets like the one on offer from Betfred.

It starts by the lake in Annecy and finishes at the top of the mountain. Will the yellow jersey still be up for grabs, and will two-time winner Alberto Contador still be in with a chance?

We’ll know on Sunday at Versailles as the winner of this years Tour de France sprints along the Champs Elysees. Keep an eye on Mark Cavendish

Cavendish has won the last four sprints on the Champs Elysees and will want to become the first rider to win the final stage on five occasions. Betfred offers odds of 5/6 on Cavendish winning stage 21 as well as great coverage of the TDF.
